SSC Exam Overview

Staff Selection Commission (SSC), a reputed organization of Government of India takes care of recruitment at different posts in ministries and departments of offices of the Government of India. Established in the year 1975, to recruit candidates for different grades of posting for the ministries and department, it was formerly known as Subordinate Services Commission.

Annually, vacancies are fulfilled with the conduction of exams on posts like Junior Engineer, Constables, Translators, etc. The different posts for which SSC is conducted are:

  • Sub-Inspectors in CAPF
  • Assistant Sub-Inspectors in CISF
  • Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police
  • Constables
  • Junior Engineers for Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Departments
  • Stenographers
  • Junior Hindi Translators in Subordinate Departments
  • Non-Technical Multi-Tasking staff
  • Clerks [LDC, UDC]
  • Compilers
  • Assistant Enforcement Officers
  • Divisional Accountants
  • Accountants
  • Auditors
  • Tax Assistants
  • Statistical Investigators

Eligibility for different posts in SSC:

Age Limit

Statistical Investigator Grade II 26 years (max.)
Assistant/ Sub Inspector (CBI) 20-27 years
Other posts 18-27 years

 

Educational Qualifications

Compiler Bachelor’s Degree(Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as elective or compulsory subject)
Statistical Investigator Grade II Bachelor’s Degree(Statistics as one main subject)Or Bachelor’s Degree with Maths(Statistics as a paper must)

Or Bachelor’s Degree with Economics(Statistics as a paper must)

Or Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce(Statistics as a paper must)
