  • Union govt going to launch Rashtriya Vayoshri Yajana (RVY) in 1st April.  A scheme specially designed for senior citizen. First of its kind scheme fully funded by govt of India. Aims to provide physical aids & assisted living to the senior citizen belonging to BPL category.

Govt will undertake the distribution of the devices. Artificial limbs manufacturing corporation (ALIMCO) PSU under the ministry of social justice & empowerment will undertake free maintenance of the aids & assistive living devices.

  • Supreme Court of India order not to mandate Aadhaar card for govt welfare schemes.
  • National Housing bank (NHB) and RHFL (Repco home finance limited) ink pact to implement credit linked subsidy scheme for middle income group.

  • Supreme Court instructed not to make Aadhaar card mandatory for social benefits scheme under govt,
  • Union govt all set to launch Aadhaar pay digital payment gateway platform for merchants on April 14. Through this merchants will get paid digitally from customer over the counter. Previously govt has successfully launched BHIM. In this the merchant have to download bank’s aadhaar pay up app on his/her smartphone from Google play store and will receive payment by sending a pull notification to customer’s bank account.
  • Lok Sabha passed the Mental Health Care Bill, provision of right to better health care for people undergoing from mental illness. Aims to decriminalise suicide attempts, punishes inhuman treatment or imprisonment to a person with mental illness.
  • ESIC Mobile Clinic Service launched in Andhra Pradesh & Kerala. The ESI mobile clinic vans/ambulance services will serve in the area where not covered with ESI dispensary. The ambulance will run with a doctor, pharmacist, and attendant driver and with necessary clinical equipments & medications. The ambulance will scheduled to visit  2 location a day for 3 hours each & each location will covered twice a week.
  • Randeep Guleria appointed as director of AIIMS.

  • General Insurance Company (GIC) will be the first insurer to launch IPO, in next financial year.  IPO (initial public offer) of equity share with face value Rs. 5 each to public in domestic market. He was awarded Padma Shree in 2004 & Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in arts & cinema.
